Literature Text

            There's this tradition

That only comes around once a year.

It’s made Pip and his soldiers

            Learn to tremble with fear.

            Whether roaming the halls,

Or just enjoying a tonic and gin.

You’re bound to see a shadow hiding,

Or Sir Integra with a feral grin.

Seras thought it was cute the first year.

            The second was strange.

By the third it was a concern,

And now it’s just become plain.

Alucard was nowhere to be found,

As he was around Christmas day.

If he was to be outed,

            Everyone else would pay.

            It would happen eventually,

            Integra would finally summon him.

Her way of giving up the chase,

And his way of hating what was to begin.

            “Everyone must be festive,”

            She’d say, disturbingly with glee,

            And Alucard would sulk,

Because it was too late to flee.

“You’ve done this since you were small,”

He would hiss with a sneer.

“It can’t be this amusing anymore.

“And certainly not bring you cheer.”

            “Oh, but you’re wrong,”

            She stated as she snickered.

“It’s always going to be fun.”

            In Alucard’s eyes, irritation flickered.

“What do I have to do now?”

He asked, his tone filled with dread.

“Give me your hat and cloak.”

She stated, taking the former from his head.

            Alucard begrudgingly removed the cloak,

Leaving nothing but his other clothes.

Integra began to pick up decorations

That for a year had been boxed and closed.

She wove green tinsel on the hat.

            Put ornaments on his cloak.

Reached up and put a scarf on his neck.

He looked like he would choke.

            He took back his outfit,

Placed the hat upon his head.

He let out a frustrated growl,

That threatened to wake the dead.

            She stepped back,

            Examining her piece of art.

            Alucard stared back at her,

Trying not to look the part.

            She released a giggle,

For it was too funny to not.

            Alucard suddenly smirked,

And her stomach turned to knots.

He reached out and grabbed her arm,

Not giving her a chance to run.

            He grinned dangerously at her,

            “Now, Integra, it’s my turn.”

She frowned as he reached down,

Digging into his coat’s inner pocket.

He pulled out a small box,

And Integra’s heart shot up like a rocket.

            Alucard never retaliated,

She had no idea what to expect.

He always said what she did,

            Showed a lack of respect.

She gulped as he opened the box,

Removing some items with one hand.

The box fell as he lifted it up,

She saw something green and a small band.

He released her long enough to lift his hand,

And place something on the rim of his hat.

Integra looked up at the strange leaves,

            Asking, “What is that?”

            “Mistletoe, Integra,” he scoffed.

            “I figured you’d know this.”

Integra quickly realized, but it was too late.

Alucard leaned down, drawing her into a kiss.

            She stood there, shocked,

Though she couldn’t help but return it.

Alucard let it linger for a long moment,

Before drawing back, a smile on his lips.

He slipped the band on her finger without asking,

But she didn’t bother fighting this.

He leaned down, breath hot in her ear,

As he whispered softly, “Merry Christmas.”

A cute poem I wrote for Christmas, although a bit late in uploading it. So, for you IntegraxAlucard fans, this is for you! I figured if there's one holiday that Integra would drag fun out of, it would be this one, haha.

Merry belated Christmas!
